Commissioner Gantt Pierce
Gantt Pierce is a native of Dothan, Alabama. He graduated from Northview High School in 2002 and attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Gantt furthered his education at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2011.
Since returning to Dothan, Gantt has built a career as a Personal Injury attorney and civil litigator. In 2020, Gantt joined Dothan Law Group as a partner.
Gantt is an entrepreneur who is passionate about building businesses and creating jobs here in Dothan. Since 2011, Gantt and his wife, Niki, have started several businesses and created 35+ jobs in our community. One of the Pierce’s newest projects, The Maxwelle Building, is located at 344 North Oates Street and is a professional cooperative space sharing concept to serve business and legal professionals in downtown Dothan.
Together, they are involved, dedicated members of the Wiregrass community, with a passion for the growth and improvement of our area. In June 2018, Gantt was appointed to the Planning Commission for the City of Dothan and served on that Commission until he was elected in the City Commission in 2021. He has also served on the Dothan Area Young Professionals board and in 2019 was voted as one of DAYP’s Top 20 Under 40, in addition to currently serving as the Treasurer on the Houston County Bar Association’s Executive Committee.
Gantt and Niki have three children: Elle and twin boys Max & Will. Gantt and Niki are active members of Westgate Church or Christ. In his “free” time, he also enjoys being with his family, the beach, travelling and is an avid fan of college football and the Atlanta Braves.
