Project Description
Continuing the U.S. 84 Access Management Plan, this project will expand improvements along the corridor outside of the Ross Clark Circle. The additional westbound lane as well as intersection improvements at John D. Odom Road have been completed recently. This project continues that effort by adding an additional lane eastbound from North Shady Lane to Bel Aire Drive to tie into the improvements that have been completed during the widening of Ross Clark Circle. The goal of this project is to improve traffic flow eastbound toward Ross Clark Circle.
This project is funded by the City of Dothan and the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP-II) grant. This grant is managed by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). The City of Dothan received ATRIP-II grant funds in the amount of 2 million dollars and is providing an additional estimated 1.5 million dollars to the project.
