City Sidewalk Projects

Project Description  

The City of Dothan is continuously working to install new sidewalks throughout the City. Sidewalks provide a safe location for pedestrians to walk to local destinations within the City. Currently, the City funds sidewalks with City Funds and/or grants such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). The following sidewalk projects are currently being designed or under construction. 

Proposed Project: 2026 TAP Project – Pedestrian Improvements Along West Main Street (US-84) 

Location: Along West Main Street (US Highway 84) from Cherokee Avenue to Park Avenue. 

Project Owner: City of Dothan 

Budget:: ± $901,000  (Federal: $721,000; City: $180,000)

Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and City funds will be used for this project. This project will designed by Three Notch Group, Inc. starting in January 2026.


Proposed Project: 2025 CDBG Sidewalk Project - West Adams Street

Location: Along West Adams Street from North Alice Street to South Oates Street

Project Owner: City of Dothan

Budget: ± $222,200.00

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and City funds will be used for this project.  The City will open bids on this project in Spring of 2026 with construction to begin in summer of 2026.
