Youth Camps
Come and enjoy a happy and healthy summer of fun for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 years old. Camp Choctaw is held at Westgate Park and Camp Seminole is held at Walton Park. Both camps offer a mixture of sports, games, field trips, arts & crafts, special events, theme days, camp contests, free two-week swimming lessons, and more. All campers will enjoy customized schedules that are both age and gender specific. A wide variety of activities keeps every day fresh and exciting as each week offers a unique set of events, adventures, and contests. Summer Camps
Finding quality, affordable care can be a challenge for any parent and guardian. That’s why Dothan Leisure Services is offering several options through its parks and community centers. With Dothan Leisure Services, parents and guardians can rest easy knowing their child will be cared for in a fun, safe environment, supervised by professional recreation staff. The educational and recreational activities, along with field trips, give children more than just a place to spend the day. They also allow kids to grow and learn, while making friends and discovering new interests.
Camp Cherokee is located at Dothan’s beautiful Wiregrass Park. Camp Cherokee is for ages 6 to 9 years old.
Camp Chickasaw is located at Dothan’s beautiful Andrew Belle Community Center. Andrew Belle has Dothan’s only splash pad, a zero gradient entry swimming pool – your camper will be able to enjoy it all at Camp Chickasaw! Your camper will also be able to utilize Andrew Belle’s brand-new, state-of-the-art computer lab. Camp Chickasaw is for ages 10 to 12 years old.
At each of the two camps your camper will be able to engage in a mixture of sports, games, field trips, arts & crafts, special events, theme weeks, camp contests, swimming lessons, and more. A free lunch and snack are included with each camp’s registration fee but be sure to send your camper with a refillable water bottle each day. Campers must wear tennis shoes every day. Junior Camp Counselors Wanted!
Volunteer opportunities are available for Junior Camp Counselors ages 14 to 15 years. This is not a paid position; however, participants will learn valuable skills such as leadership and teamwork that can be important on a resume. The Junior Camp Counselor program is a two-week program. To register, visit Junior Camp Counselor Registration, click on the ‘Volunteer’ tab, and select Junior Camp Counselor. At one of the steps in the registration process you’ll have the opportunity to select your first, second, and third choice of the two-week sessions.
