[ARCHIVED] City of Dothan’s Planning and IT Departments Announce New GIS Mapping Portal

The City of Dothan is pleased to announce that a new, browser-based GIS mapping application for use on home computers and mobile devices is now available for public use. “Dothan GIS Maps” may be accessed on the city’s website at four locations; on the city’s home page at www.dothan.org (left navigation bar), under the “How Do I” drop down menu on the top right corner of the city’s home page (“Find Dothan GIS Maps”), on the Planning Departments page under “What’s New…” (“Dothan GIS Maps”), and on the Planning Department’s Land Development page under maps (“Dothan GIS Maps”).

The site offers users the opportunity to view the City of Dothan’s zoning information along with other information that can be quickly and easily displayed such as aerial photographs, Historic Districts, and addresses. Parcel information is also available through the site as provided by Houston County GIS. The service has many features including a measuring tool and even a way to print a layout for incorporation into a report or as a portable document (pdf). For more information, please call the Dothan Planning Department at (334) 615-4410.
