Pat Thomas has served the
citizens of Dothan since October, 1997. After two terms as the District 5
Commissioner, he was elected Mayor in July, 2005. A 1974 graduate of Dothan
High School, he received his B.S. in General Management from the University
of Alabama in 1979. Thomas has served as the President of the Dothan Rotary
Club, Chairman of the Wiregrass United Way, President of the Wiregrass Red
Elephant Club, and Chairman of the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center.
Mayor Thomas currently
serves as a board member for the Education Foundation for Dothan’s Future,
Association of the United States Army (AUSA), Friends of Fort Rucker, and
the National Peanut Festival.
Dothan’s Mayor Thomas was
named President of his family business, Dothan Awning Company, Inc., in
1984. He currently serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors for
Community Bank and Trust and a member of Operating Committee for Dothan by
Design, the industrial recruiting arm of the Dothan Area Chamber of
Commerce.
Mayor
Thomas and his wife of twenty six years, Cindy, have two daughters, Sarah
Thomas Glover, and Amy, a student at UAB. The Thomas family attends
Covenant United Methodist Church.
