The
Vice/Intelligence Division is a division within the Investigative Services
Bureau. The day to day operations are directed and coordinated by a
police lieutenant. There is one supervising sergeant assigned to this
unit. The drug team consists of seven investigators who focus their
efforts on the illegal drug trade in and around the city. Vice
officers also handle all gambling, prostitution and other related crimes.
They work with state and federal agencies to trace illegal drugs back to the
source. The "proactive" approach to drug enforcement speaks for
itself. The Dothan Vice/Intelligence Division has the highest arrest
statistics of any unit in the State of Alabama. This division also
provides community drug awareness programs upon request.
