Animal Control - A new program was implemented to deliver young dogs to adoption facilities in Florida.  Over 600 dogs have been delivered this year to those centers. Citizen Observer Program - This program provides citizens with a view of the City of Dothan through the eyes of a police officer.  The citizens are exposed to the challenges and pressures faced by a police officer during a normal duty day. Juvenile/School Resource Officers - The School Resource Officers motivate young people to be outstanding citizens through law enforcement education.  They work to transform the traditional role of the police officer into one of mentor and friend. Wiregrass K.I.S.S. - This program provides an excellent source of education concerning the welfare of young children while being transported in vehicles. Records Division - Processed over 16,000 incident, offense, MVC and other miscellaneous reports in 2003 Communications - Answered 1,888,142 Telephone calls in 2003 including 199,744 Nine-Eleven calls Vice & Intelligence - Seized over $51,000 in U.S. currency while investigating drug violations in 2003   POLICE MISSION STATEMENT: To preserve the peace and public order while enhancing quality of life in cooperation with all who share in the common interest of this wonderful city.
