Leisure Services Department Westgate Softball Complex

Westgate Softball Complex boasts five fields each designed to accommodate every type of adult softball competition. Each field features skinned infields and Bermuda grass outfields maintained by an underground sprinkler system. Additional features include modern scorekeeping equipment, public address systems for each field, Hollywood bases, and the best lighting system available today.

Dugouts are equipped with water fountains and direct phone lines to the scorekeeper’s table and press box. The two-story central building houses a complex manager’s office, a concession stand, a press box, a meeting room, public restrooms, and five scorekeeper’s tables. From this central vantage point, the activities on five fields are monitored.

The Complex was designed with special attention given to the entertainment and comfort of visiting teams and their families. Within walking distance of playing fields, visitors can enjoy Water World, a Southeastern tourist attraction, or visit the Westgate Recreation Center. These facilities are located at Westgate Park, adjacent to the Softball Complex.

Opened in 1986, the Complex has hosted eighteen ASA National Slowpitch Softball Tournaments.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tournament Information—all softball Invitational tournaments are ASA or ISA sanctioned events. Please do not ask for any first night byes—late start times will be given to out of town teams whenever possible. Any team that is a NO SHOW is liable for the entry fee.
Entry Deadline—will be 5pm Wednesday prior to the scheduled tournament.
Entry Fees—Credit card number needed to hold teams spot in tournament. Once teams check in and pay entry fee credit card number will be discarded. Make checks payable to Westgate Softball Complex.
Steal Cleats—are not allowed during invitational or ISA tournaments.
Balls—Hit your own ASA or ISA approved softballs unless provided. Must be .44 core balls for slow pitch.
Rosters—Sanctioned rosters must be turned in before first game. No changes can be made after tournament starts.
Umpires—All Umpires at Westgate Softball Complex are sanctioned and trained for rules of ASA and ISA softball. No verbal or physical abuse of these Umpires will be tolerated.
Westgate Softball Complex is a NON-SMOKING FACILITY!!!! All smoking must be done in designated areas. Anyone violating this will be ask to leave the park.
NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE PARK.
NO CHILDREN ALLOWED IN DUGOUTS OR ON FIELDS AT ANY TIME.
Matching jerseys are required.
