 The Doug Tew Community Center is located on 15 acres of land and includes a swimming pool, recreation center building, five ball fields, three tennis courts, and a playground/picnic area.
 

The T-shaped pool at Doug Tew		The “ T ” shaped pool (the first of its type to be constructed in Alabama) has a main section that is 49 x 104 feet, 3.5 feet deep at each end, and 5.5 feet deep in the center. The diving area is 26 x 34 feet with 10.5 feet of water under the half-meter board. A float line separates the swimming area from the diving area for the safety of the swimmers. There is also a small child’s wading pool.

The community center building includes a gymnasium, auditorium, kitchen, two club rooms, lobby, offices, and restrooms. The dressing rooms/showers serve the gymnasium in the winter and the swimming pool in the summer.

Three Dixie Youth baseball fields are located in the athletic complex. A cabana, located between the baseball fields, houses a concession stand, picnic area, restrooms and press box. Closest to the community center is a girls’ softball field.

The playground area has the most modern play equipment available that is also handicapped accessible. In addition, this area includes picnic tables.
