In 1914 The First Pumping Station opened in Dothan, Alabama. Dothan Fire Rescue now has eight Fire Stations, with Paramedic Pumpers, Fire Prevention, Training Division, and Emergency Medical Services.

• Fire Code Enforcement

• Fire Safety Inspections of Commercial Buildings to include:
  weekend and night inspection of nightclubs and restaurants
• Fire Evacuation Planning for assembly occupancies
• All Risk Education for Citizens, Businesses, School and Civic Groups
• Health and Safety Fairs
• Fire Station Tours
• Smoke Detector Installation Program
• Free Blood Pressure Screening
• CPR Training
• Fire Extinguisher Training
• Other emergency services, to include: Hazardous Materials Response,
  Tactical Rescue (For Example: Dive, Trench, High Angle)
