Project Description
This project will connect with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) current improvements to the Ross Clark Circle/U.S. Hwy 84 by extending an additional lane westbound to John D. Odom Road. There will be intersection improvements associated with the project, as well as incorporating ALDOT’s Access Management Plan for this corridor. The additional lane will be added to the median side of West Main Street.
This project is funded by the City of Dothan and the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP-II) grant. This grant is managed by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). The City of Dothan received the maximum available ATRIP-II grant funds in the amount of 2 million dollars and is providing an additional estimated 2.2 million dollars to complete the project. The project is currently being designed by Poly, Inc..
Project Timeline
Poly, Inc. is planning to work through ALDOT and the City of Dothan to have the project ready for bid in April 2021. Construction is planned to start summer of 2021 and last through Summer of 2022.
