Message from the City Manager, Kevin Cowper
With the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the speed at which things are changing, we are continually adapting our City operations. The safety and wellbeing of our citizens and our City employees are my primary concern. We are in regular contact with local, state and regional resources to remain informed of the latest updates and recommendations. We are partnering and sharing information with local, state and regional resources including but not limited to Alabama Department of Public Health, Southeast Health Medical Center, Flowers Hospital, Dothan City Schools, Houston County and the Centers for Disease Control.
Additionally, we know that there are critical public services on which you rely and which we must continue to deliver. While we are canceling, postponing or rescheduling events and programming in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, I personally want to assure you that our dedicated workforce will continue to provide public safety services (police, fire, 911), garbage collection services, water purification services, sewage treatment services, electricity and all other essential services. We have faced challenges in the past, and each has made us better prepared for situations like this. Caring for our citizens is our top priority. Our employees are working tirelessly and taking necessary precautions to make sure that we continue to provide the essential City services on which you rely.
