Parent & Child Aquatics

The American Red Cross Infant and Preschool Aquatic Program is a water orientation program for children 1 - 3 years. The program is split into two different classes: American Red Cross

  • MINNOWS (1-3 years) - adult required in water with each participant

Each class focuses on exploring the water and moving in the water while being safe. The classes are tailored to the age group's individual needs and will prove to be beneficial to your child's water development. It is a $30 fee for a two-week Monday - Thursday day or night class. Child/Youth Swimming Lessons

The Department of Leisure Services offers American Red Cross Swimming Lessons for children 4 years old through adult. 

Child/Youth Swim Lessons are as follows:

  • GUPPIES (4 to 5 years) - no adult required in water
  • Levels 1 and 2 - Beginner/Water Exploration
  • Level 3 - Beginning-Intermediate / Stroke Readiness
  • Level 4 - Early Intermediate / Stroke Development
  • Level 5 - Intermediate / Stroke Refinement
  • Level 6 - Advanced / Skill Proficiency

Each level builds on the previous level so we ask that you follow the progression of the levels and not skip levels.

Adult Swimming Lessons

Adult Swimming Lessons are beginner classes but even advanced beginnerswimming lessons save livess and intermediate swimmers can take away from the knowledgeable instructors in this class. We take pride in tailoring this class to the individual in the class and meeting the individual swimmer's needs.
